This blog is officially on hiatus (as opposed to me just not updating) while I direct my quite desperation toward participating in 2009 ’s National Novel Writing Month. My normal writing routine is far from prodigious so I will not be able to both write the required thousand some odd words a day, assuming I can meet that challenge at all, and contribute half-decent posts to the blog. There are legitimate criticisms of NaNoWriMo but I’m not in it to try and create some instant novel. I formulated the idea for a story in early October and have been attempting to flesh it out in notes. This contest will give me a incentive to hammer out a first draft by giving me target numbers and a deadline. When it’s all finished what I will have is a very rough draft that I can work with to shape into something better. Or at least that’s the plan.
